China's plastic packaging materials need to align with green and environmental protection.

Currently, plastic packaging constitutes an increasingly large proportion of the packaging industry, and the amount of resulting packaging waste is growing year by year, posing a significant threat to environmental protection. Green and environmentally friendly packaging is therefore becoming increasingly important. Therefore, green packaging should be vigorously developed, and the handling of packaging waste and the recycling and reuse of resources should be prioritized to meet the requirements of sustainable development.

  As the proportion of plastic packaging in the packaging industry continues to grow, so do the demands placed upon it, with environmental friendliness being one key requirement. Plastic packaging material companies can refer to the following aspects for further improvement and enhancement:

  Innovate and research new plastic materials and processing technologies, enabling more high-performance plastics to be used as packaging materials. Utilize the high performance of new materials to achieve a reduction in packaging material volume.

  Promote the progress and development of plastic blending technology, new plastic additives, and application technologies. While ensuring that plastic packaging materials are non-toxic, hygienic, and environmentally friendly, utilize low-cost technologies to enhance the performance of plastic packaging materials and facilitate volume reduction.

  Improve and enhance plastic recycling and processing technologies to significantly increase the recycling rate of plastic packaging materials, mitigate and eliminate the environmental hazard of plastic packaging material, and improve resource utilization. Develop bio-based plastics, effectively controlling the degradation time and cycle of bioplastics. While fully utilizing the functionality of bioplastic packaging materials, reduce and eliminate the pollution and impact of plastic packaging materials on the ecological environment. Through independent research and development and technological innovation, reduce the cost of new plastic packaging materials and technologies, thereby addressing the issue of many green packaging plastics not being widely applied due to high costs. Develop advanced packaging technologies, such as intelligent technologies, to utilize the edible and water-soluble properties of some plastic packaging materials to reduce the amount of packaging waste and improve the safety and environmental performance of plastic packaging.

  Currently, the proportion of plastic packaging in the total output value of the packaging industry exceeds 30%, making it a major force in the packaging industry and playing an irreplaceable role in various fields such as food, beverages, daily necessities, and industrial and agricultural production. The future development of the plastic packaging industry will mainly exhibit three trends: plastic packaging will become greener, and plastic packaging waste has attracted widespread public concern. Strengthening the scientific management and utilization of plastic packaging, maximizing the recycling of waste plastics, and gradually developing and utilizing degradable plastics is crucial. In China, degradable plastics have seen significant development, and vigorously developing and promoting the use of degradable plastics is a matter of urgency.
